Stevand Racing was established in 2005 by Steve and Andy Obertanec. Steve’s in car experience – he had been behind the wheel winning races for years – mixed with Andy’s business acumen led to immediate success as a fledgling drag racing team. Steve was the Pro Track Grand Champion at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH and the IHRA Bracket World Finals Midwest Modified ET World Champion that same year.

Steve has been Class Champion, Track Champion, and World Champion, so when Stevand Racing added Andy’s son Matt Obertanec to its stable of drivers, there were big shoes to fill.

Matt filled those shoes right off the bat by winning Rookie of the Year at Dragway 42 in 2006 and their Halloween Thing in 2008. Matt didn’t stop locally, either. He’s made his mark on the road by winning the 2010 Piedmont Foot Brake National Championships in North Carolina and the 2011 IHRA Division III Modified ET World Championships in Pennsylvania.

While you’re here at Stevand Racing presented by More Than a Fan keeping up with the guys, don’t forget to check out their driver profiles and team photo gallery.
